Eco Club established in our college campus on academic year 2019-20from the department of civil engineering Eco Club is a platform on which we got the knowledge about environment

An Eco club is a group who works to contribute to improving environmental conditions. They offer programs and activities to encourage others to reduce pollution, plant trees and more.

About the club

International women’s day on 8th March 2017

The Women’s Welfare Committee of A J Institute of Engineering and Technology has organized a special program to celebrate the International women’s day on 8th March 2017, in the college seminar hall at 3pm. Program began with the welcome dance, performed by Ms. Prashanthi Shetty. Dr. Shantharam Rai, Principal of AJIET welcomed the gathering. Ms. Adhya Rai introduced the guest to the audience. Dr. Ashajyothi Rai, Director of “Aasare Charitable Trust”, was the chief guest of the function. She addressed the students and faculty members with her enriching thought provoking wordings. She mainly highlighted on issues related to women and their impact on the society. The chairman of Women’s Welfare committee Dr.Shanthakumari.K, Department of Mathematics proposed vote of thanks and Ms. Zuha Waseem was the master of ceremony.

International women’s day on 8th March 2018

The Women’s Welfare Committee has organized a special program to celebrate the International women’s day on 8th March 2018, by arranging various competitions and a value added talk by Dr. Kavyashree K.B., HOD, Department of Clinical Phsycology, St. Agnes College, Mangaluru. Dr. Kavyashree spoke about “Mental health and its importance”. Prizes were distributed to the winners of the competitions in nail art, Rangoli,Paper dressing, Mehendi design and Flower arrangement.

Women’s Day was celebrated in AJIET on 30th March, 2019

Women’s Day was celebrated in AJIET on 30th March, 2019 by holding an event in the seminar Hall -1. The event was organised by the Women's Welfare Committee (WWC), AJIET. The programme started off by invoking God’s blessings with a meaningful prayer led by Ms. Anajana, student of 4th Semester Civil. The Chairman of Women’s Welfare Committee, Dr. Shantha Kumari K. welcomed the gathering. The event was graced by Chief Guest Mrs. Malini Hasbhavi, Sub Inspector, Kavoor Police Station, Mangaluru. She said that women victims of sexual harassment, dowry harassment and domestic violence have to report to the Women’s desk which encourages women to speak openly and comfortably about sensitive issues. Session was presided by Principal, Dr. Shantharama Rai, who addressed the gathering and spoke on Women’s Day theme “Think Equal, Build Smart, Innovate for Change”. Dr. Sangeetha D M, Associate Professor, Dept. of Civil Engineering, proposed vote of thanks. Ms. Varsha Shetty, student of 6th Semester Computer Science Engineering was the Master of Ceremony.

SIGNATURE COMPAIGN on 21/09/2019

Youth Against Rape is a community in India against Rape and Fake Rape Accusation. This community has some demands for betterment of Indian Society such as amendment of death penalty law against rape, punishment for females filing fake cases against men and new rules to provide victim & witness protection program. As a support for this mission, the Women’s Welfare Committee/Antisexual Harassment Committee of A. J. Institute of Engineering and Technology in association with Youth against Rape (DK) conducted “SIGNATURE COMPAIGN” on 21/09/2019, Saturday from 12PM to 1PM, near the reception counter. All staffs and students participated in this signature campaign.

Self-defence Workshop

The Women’s Welfare Committee of AJIET organized a self-defence workshop for all female students and staffs on 22nd February, 2020 at 11AM in seminar hall 3. The CEO and Founder of “Swaraksha for Women Trust®", Mangaluru, Mr Karthik S Kateel, who is also a karate expert, conducted the self-defence training. Along with his mother Mrs Shobhalatha, he explained various instances of harassment women face in the society by a stranger or a group of people and demonstrated five techniques on how women can find ways to tackle them. Explaining the organs to be targeted while fighting against such attacks he said: “Be smarter to understand the mindset of the attacker and select your move.”

About the club

The Automotive Club of the institute is students lead club who are interested in Automobiles. The club encourages the students to demonstrate their engineering design & manufacturing ideas, team working, time management, project management, budgeting and presentation skills to build a Formula, Go Karting and All terrain cars for competition. The Automotive Club of AJIET embraces a group of hardworking students who share their common passion towards automobiles. The students would take part in several competitions like SUPRA SAE, Formula Bharat and many more. The club would organize lectures on Automobiles and their various sub-systems, conduct workshops on design and analysis with the tools such as solid works and Nastran.

Objectives

  • To enhance students’ interdisciplinary skill related to modelling and building of Automobiles for student competitions.
  • To provide a platform for students to demonstrate their engineering design & manufacturing skills, team working, time management, project management, budgeting and presentation.
  • To expand knowledge and cultivate interest in the automotive culture to take part in National and International events.
  • To develop partnership with Industries for product development and research in automobile sector.
  • To create a chain link of participation in Go-Kart, Eco-Kart, SAE Supra, formula Bharat.
  • To encourage the students to take up their career in Automotive sector and make them responsive to social needs.

Outcome of the Club:

  • Student design and built automotive cars as per the given set of rules (Rule Book) and design standard of ISIE and SAE international.
  • Students learn and realize their talent through an experience which helps them to be placed in automobile companies.
  • Students are exposed to compete with higher level of institutions such as IITs.
  • To extract future entrepreneur, technocrats, innovators and leaders, thus serving the prime objective of bringing out real talent to serve the Indian automotive industry
  • Students will get a chance to demonstrate their engineering design & manufacturing skills, team working, time management, project management, budgeting and presentation: all things that any prospective employer will be looking for future engineering careers

Roles of Staff Coordinator

  • Guide the students and provide technical and non-technical support to the student members to achieve their target whenever necessary.
  • Encourage students to submit proposals to external agencies and participate/conduct in various national/international competitions.
  • Encourage the students to conduct required club meeting and keep the files up to date.

Roles of Student Coordinator

  • Coordinate the club activities and communicate the requirement to higher authorities.
  • Conduct group meeting to discuss/collect ideas from group members.
  • Think ahead and plan for the group's continued improvement.
  • Actively attend all Club functions and promote membership.
  • Maintain proper communication with faculty Adviser, and other engineering departments within the college.
  • Run all general meetings and meetings in parliamentary manner.
  • Arrange technical speakers in programs of interest.
  • Distribute responsibilities equally among student members.
  • Oversee the recording of the activities, both financial and documental.

Workshop on Design and Building of Go-Kart Car

A 2-day workshop on “Design and building of an electric car and Go karting car” was organized on 21st and 22nd of August 2022 by Automotive Club of AJIET in association with ‘Imperial Society of Innovative Engineers’. Resource person Mr.Vikas Reddy initiated the 1st session of day 1 with basics of Go-Kart and assembly parts followed by responsibilities, team formation and events related to Go-Kart was explained in the afternoon session.

Solar Car

Design and development of a Solar Car by final year project batches under the supervision of Automotive Club. Two project batches were made: one batch with students Sharvari, Nithin P and Jeswin biju to design and analyse the solar Car under the guidance of Dr. Sreejith B K and the other batch with students Charan Kumar, Eshank, Akarsh and Abhilash under the guidance of Mr. Harold D Souza. Both the projects were supervised by Automotive Club.

Compose Camp

The Students Development Club in association with the Google Developers Students Club (GDSC) wing of AJIET and DevNation AJIET organized a Compose Camp on 13th October 2022. The target audience for this camp were 3rd and 4th year students of CSE, ISE and ECE departments. All the sessions of the camp were hosted and conducted by the students of the GDSC club.

The session was intended for all the students of IT branches.

The A J Institute of Engineering and Technology Mangaluru, as an affiliated institution under VTU (Visvesvaraya Technological University), has been nominated by VTU to implement training under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) 4.0. Consequently, the institute will function as a Training Partner.

The Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Govt. of India, is implementing the flagship skill development scheme of Government of India - Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana 4.0 (PMKVY 4.0).

With the roll-out of the National Education Policy (NEP) in 2020, there has been a renewed focus on vocational skill training imparted by schools and higher education institutes, thus integrating mainstream academics with practical vocational skill training.

Objective of the Scheme

  • Promote an enabling ecosystem for the youth to get skilled and choose a career path aligned with their abilities and aspirations.
  • Enable the delivery of skill training in a market-oriented and demand-driven manner by making the existing skilling ecosystem more flexible, swift, and geared to meet the emerging demand.
  • Process overhauling of the skill ecosystem by leveraging technology, innovative financing, and digitalization.

About the club

Aero club is an association of persons interested in aeronautics. It comprised of both flying club and wind energy aerodynamic club. It is a not-for-profit, member-run club for innovative findings and contribution to the society. The club encourage students to generate, develop and implement their indigenous idea in the area and promote it to practice using their technical skills.

At present the club focussing on:

Dr. Soumya S from Eleation led a webinar on "Introduction to Robotics and its Applications" via Google Meet on July 24, 2021. It was attended by students from various years, the session covered robotics fundamentals, design, kinematics, degrees of freedom, and the Laws of Robotics. Students visited Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management's Aero Club On December 13th, 2021. The visit included a lab tour, a session on RC plane and drone design, and interactions with Aero Club members Mr. Pranav, Mr. Abhinav, and Miss Pranamya. They also engaged with Mr. Mithun from the startup Flatonomers on aerospace entrepreneurship opportunities.

Aero Club and ARMS hosted a hands-on workshop on drone part design using Fusion 360 on 08-06-2024. Led by Mr. Abhilash, participants gained practical skills in CAD design, including creating drone frames, propellers, and mounts. 2023-24

Aero Club, in collaboration with ARMS on 13-06-2024, hosted a Learning Workshop on drone and solar cold storage technologies in agriculture. Experts Mr. Abhishek Burman and Mr. Anish R Simha presented on drone applications for precision farming and the benefits of solar-powered cold storage in reducing post-harvest losses and enhancing sustainability.

Embedded systems are referred to as control systems tailored for specific applications. Nowadays, embedded systems are used in many different fields such as automotive, robotics, LoT, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, telecommunications, consumer electronics, biomedical equipment and instrumentation. Looking at its diversity of applications and potential for production of highly innovative products, embedded systems can be considered as the primary technology of the Present and Future.

Department of Electronics and communication Engineering started Embedded and Robotic Club during academic year 2018-19, to provide space and infrastructure for technical minds to carryout embedded projects for various national level competitions.

The Cyber Security Club was officially launched on October 23, 2024, following an MoU signing with CyberSapiens United LLP, Mangalore. This collaboration aims to enrich students' knowledge and skills in cyber security through hands-on activities and expert guidance.

The inaugural camp targeted 2nd, 3rd, and 4th-year students of AJIET, offering them a unique opportunity to dive into cyber security practices. All sessions were meticulously organized, hosted, and led by the students of the Cyber Security Club. These sessions focused on key areas such as ethical hacking, threat analysis, and security auditing, allowing participants to gain practical experience in a collaborative environment.

The club's initiatives are designed to provide continuous learning opportunities, industry interactions, and access to advanced cyber security tools and techniques, empowering students to become proficient in securing digital ecosystems.

4-Day Awareness Program On “Cyber Attacks & Defences: Building Awareness for a Safer Digital World” from 5th November to 08th November 2024

The Cybersecurity Awareness Session was designed specifically for first-year engineering students, aiming to introduce them to essential cybersecurity concepts and the importance of protecting digital information in both personal and professional contexts. As engineering students increasingly interact with technology and digital resources, understanding cybersecurity fundamentals is crucial for their academic and future professional journeys.

The session covered vital topics such as creating secure passwords, recognizing phishing scams, safe internet browsing, and the risks associated with social engineering. With a mix of engaging presentations and interactive discussions, participants were introduced to best practices for safeguarding their online activities and were encouraged to adopt secure digital habits early in their academic careers. By raising awareness and building foundational cybersecurity skills, the session helped students understand the impact of cyber threats and empowered them to contribute to a more secure digital environment.
