General Facilities

 

 

Sports and Games

Sports facilities are provided to the students under the Professor of Physical education. We have facilities for indoor and outdoor activities. Indoor facilities are provided for Table Tennis, Chess and Caroms. Outdoor facilities are provided for Volleyball, Basketball, football, cricket, shuttle Badminton and athletics. With the commissioning of the auditorium indoor basketball and shuttle court also will be functioning.

 

 

 

Language Lab

A Language Lab with 20 computers has been installed to improve the communication skills of the students. During their period of study in the college, compulsory classes for communication would be conducted. This lab is being installed to improve the style and skill of both written and oral communication of the students, which is essential for the placements.

 

 

Seminar Hall

Fully equipped Seminar Halls are available in all departments. Each one is provided with an LCD projector, audio system and laptop.

 

 

Smart Classrooms

As a first step in making the classrooms as smart classrooms each department is provided with a movable LCD projector along with a laptop which can be used in the classes.

 

 

Central Library

The AJIET library with its state-of-the-art infrastructure facilities provides a good academic atmosphere in extending comprehensive and wide ranging services to the users.Read More

Scholarships

AJIET planes to Institute Merit Scholarships to one student per batch. In addition we shall provide freeship to desevring students as per the norms. Read More

 

 

Campus Safety and Security

The college has installed Closed Circuit Television Cameras(CCTV) for the safety of staff, students and visitors and the protection of property and bulidings. It is monitored on a continous basis and the recordings are also maintained.

Objectives

  • Manages and Supervises the Canteen and Housekeeping activities
  • Maintains records pertaining to canteen and housekeeping staff
  • Monitors time sheets of evaluation of Housekeeping Staff and canteen food
  • Maintains standards to provide students, staff and the community with a safe, secure, clean and comfortable environment to learn, play and work

 

Essential Functions

Canteen and Housekeeping committee in AJIET has been formed to make housekeeping and ongoing effort on a day-to-day basis. The committee is responsible for getting the following chores done by cleaning staff.

  • Keeping the work areas, storage areas and common areas free of trash
  • Sweeping the floors regularly and cleaning it with disinfectants as and when necessary
  • Dusting the furniture in the office, classrooms and laboratories
  • Cleaning the glass surfaces regularly
  • Sanitizing the toilets by cleaning and disinfecting regularly
  • Keeping the walls free of cobwebs
  • See that the floors are not slippery during rainy season
  • Storing flammable liquids in sealed and spill-proof containers away from ignition sources
  • Reporting and replacing any broken items
  • Overall, see that any type of accidents does not occur in the institute

 

The committee is also responsible of

  • Maintain standards of hygiene in accordance with the guidelines
  • Safeguard that all canteen staff (employed and voluntary) are maintaining high standards of health and hygiene
  • Be aware of the nutritional needs of students
  • Sustenance classroom nutrition studies by providing healthy food options
  • Liaise with canteen users and consider their views, options and choices
  • Insist upon courtesy and consideration to all people when using canteen facilities

AJIET has separate hostels for boys and girls each with all modern residential facilities with neat environment, for boarding and other recreational activities. Life in hostels always provides many wits and fond memories and as such all efforts is made to make the living in AJIET hostels most meaningful, purposeful and memorable as well. The hostels have their own mess to provide good and hygienic food to the students. In addition to good residential facilities and nutritious food, the AJIET hostels also aim to improve the team spirit, cooperation and human values among students.

Staff Incharge, Hostel Committee

The Hostel is managed by the Hostel Committee consisting of Dr. Antony P J, Professor & Head of Computer Science department as Chairman and Members from all the department including Librarian, Academic admin and Wardens from both Boys and Girls Hostels. The main objectives and functionalities of Hostel Committee shall discuss and make recommendations regarding:

 

Objectives
  • 1. Admissions;
  • 2. To create amongst the students a sense of responsibility and to inculcate discipline;
  • 3. To create an atmosphere of harmony and co‐operation amongst the Hostellers;
  • 4. To provide good quality food for boarders to keep them fit and healthy;
  • 5. To provide the Hostellers a peaceful and calm environment to enable them excel in every aspect of their personality development;
  • 6. Maintenance and development of the Hostel; and
  • 7. Any other matter pertaining to the Hostel.

Functionalities

Admission and continued stay in the hostel is conditional, meaning, depending upon the academic performance, good behaviour, conduct of the student and such other things as may be decided by college management from time to time. The allotment of rooms will be made by the management in consultation with the Principal/Coordinator and warden on first come first served basis. However the management reserve its right to allot any room to any student as deemed fit and proper. The student’s stay in the allotted room for one complete academic year is mandatory in context to request for change of room is concerned. Change in rooms in mid-academic year is not possible. Request for change in room may not be granted in certain circumstances. The hostellers with chronic medical problems will be requested to vacate the room as personal medical care by parent / guardian will be necessary, also in the interest of concerned and other inmates of the hostel. If a student is expelled from the University for any Reason he/she should immediately vacate the hostel on the day of expulsion from the College/University. His / her continuance in the hostel will be treated as unauthorised and illegal occupation and shall be charged accordingly. Continuation of stay of a student in the hostel is subject to the discretion of the college administration.

 

Hostel Timings & Movement
  • • All movements from and to the hostels should be recorded in the movement register and should be signed with no excuse.
  • • No hosteller is permitted to stay out of the hostel beyond 7:00 pm in case of Boys Hostel and 5:30 pm in case of Girls hostel on college working days and during weekends and holidays.
  • • The students from Girls hostel can be given relaxation in timings with permission from warden in special circumstances up to 6:00 pm on any one day of the week.
  • • The hostellers are generally discouraged from going out of the hostels during weekends and holidays. However, in extraordinary circumstances, if they want to leave the hostel, written permission has to be obtained from the Hostel Chairman and Warden.
  • • The girl students, however, are required to obtain permission from the Warden after obtaining a request from the parent by mobile call (pre noticed number) in this context.
  • • The hostellers are required to return on the specified dates and submit the slips, signed by their parents as an indication that they stayed with their Parents /Guardian during the weekends, holidays or vacations. In addition they have to make an entry of their "check out" and "check in" in the movement register.

 

Safeguard of Students belongings
  • • The hostellers themselves are personally responsible to safeguard their belongings. They are not to keep amounts of cash or valuables like gold, costly wristwatch etc., in their room.
  •  

  • • They should also take care of their purse, calculators, cell phones, computers and books. In case of theft or loss of any items it should be reported to authorities. The hostellers are advised to keep their room, boxes, suitcases, cupboards, etc., securely locked with good quality locks, but in no case college authorities shall be responsible for any “loss” under any circumstances.

General Rules
  • • Rooms to be kept clean all the time with all things in right places at all times.
  • • Utilization of appropriate place to hang clothes.
  • • Do not waste food. Taste, little in first serving, and if needed help yourself again. [Yes, you are paying money for the food even then as an educated professional, more over as a human, value the food.]
  • • Do not take food to the room; mess hall to be utilised for dining.
  • • Refrain from throwing any forms of waste from windows.
  • • Not to disfigure any wall, furniture's or doors by sticking anything.
  • • Maintain study timing, so that at least who want to study get peaceful environment.
  • • No mobile phones in study timings and late night.
  • • In case, the students need to organize a function(Birthday) at the hostel, they are required to get prior permission from the Hostel Chairman and Warden after giving a written request in this regard.
