Profile: Dr. Sunil Kumar S is having 14 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering which includes a year of experience in Industry as Maintenance Engineer at Mysore Paper Mills, Bhadravati. He has been awarded Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from VTU during 21st annual convocation, 2022. With a genuine interest in research & development, student cognitive and social growth. Dr. Sunil Kumar is actively involved in curriculum development, teachers mentoring, student career preparation and community work. He is a self-driven leader with good communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with all levels of an organization. He has published more than 12 international articles under Scopus, Web of Science and SCI indexing. Currently working in the department of Mechanical Engineering, AJIET as NBA coordinator, also guiding Automotive club to build automotive vehicles and to participate in National events. Dr. Sunil Kumar S has been awarded the best project guide in KPIT Sparkle 2019 for the student project "Design and development of Multi axis VAWT" which was selected as best 30 among 2000 ideas in India. His area of research is "Fracture Mechanics" which He has extended into the Ph.D. work with thesis entitled "A Study on Influence of Corrosive Environment on Fracture Properties of High Strength Metallic Materials" Dr. has proposed an innovative method of estimating fracture toughness of high strength metallic materials by considering the stress concentration at notch tip. An alternative and simple test method of using impact and circumferentially cracked round bar fracture test specimens to evaluate the influence of corrosion is recommended. He is currently working on "Development of a Novel Waste Management System to Control Air Pollution" in which a student project obtained a stale level award in 45th KSCST SPP. Dr. Sunil Kumar S has guided 3 M. Tech & 15 UG projects and is having a bright vision to excel in research and development.
